Meet the Senior Managers

Glen Baynton - Head of Business Support and Quality Assurance

Glen joined Hereford and Worcestershire Probation service in 1997 working as a probation service officer in approved premises and community service before qualifying as a probation officer in 2001. As a main grade probation officer he worked in the Worcester Through Care and Courts teams prior to a five year secondment as an operational manager in the voluntary sector.  Glen returned to the West Mercia Trust and was appointed as a Senior Probation Officer operating in Redditch and Worcester. Following the formulation of the Warwickshire & West Mercia CRC Glen was appointed as the Quality Assurance Manager in October 2015 and appointed into his current role in May 2016.


George Branch - Head of Service - Shropshire,Telford and Hereford

George  started his career in probation as a Community Service Officer for West Midlands Probation in 1990. He studied to become a Probation Officer and moved on to become a Senior Probation Officer in 1995. George went on to broaden his experience and became Non-Executive Director on the Coventry and Warwickshire Primary Care Trust and took up a new role as Senior Justice Manager for Swanswell Charitable Trust. In 2007 he joined West Mercia Probation and managed the Local Delivery Unit in Telford. He went on to become an Assistant Chief Officer and he managed Worcestershire Local Delivery Unit prior to becoming Head of Service for Shropshire & Telford for Warwickshire & West Mercia Community Rehabilitation Company. George, a former England international basketball player, sits on two sports boards as well as being a Board member of a voluntary accommodation and mental health organisation in the West Midlands.


Andrew Bourne - Head of Service - Warwickshire

Andrew started his career with the West Midlands Probation as a Trainee Probation Officer in 2001, qualifying in 2003. He took a year out to go travelling in 2006 and, after a short period spent in Youth Offending, returned to the West Midlands Probation. He then took up a post with the Regional Sex Offender Unit before being appointed as a Senior Probation Officer in 2008. As an SPO he worked in unpaid work, generic case management and as a commercial projects manager supporting the Transforming Rehabilitation pilot being undertaken in Staffordshire West Midlands Probation Trust. Andrew then moved to Edinburgh, working for West Lothian Council as Lead Officer for High Risk Offenders. He joined Warwickshire West Mercia CRC in July 2015 and is now Head of Service for Warwickshire.
